The government approved new salary bonuses: who will receive an increase in 2026.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, new salary supplements will be introduced this year for certain categories of workers, particularly those who work under high-load conditions or perform important functions.
This decision was made by the government as part of a new payroll system.
Increases for medical staff and educators
Throughout 2026, increased payments will be received by medical workers, including doctors who work in intensive care units, emergency departments, and other high-load divisions.
Bonuses are also provided for educators working in schools with a large number of students or who are involved in implementing new educational programs and reforms.
Payments for social workers and specialists
Social workers who provide support to vulnerable groups will also receive supplements. Similar bonuses will be granted to personnel working in defense and critical infrastructure.
Cabinet representatives note that these professions bear great responsibility and require additional motivation. Funding for the increase has already been included in the state budget for 2026.
Sizes of bonuses
Bonuses will be set as a percentage of the official salary, and their size will depend on the specifics of the work, level of risks, and actual load.
Increase in minimum wage
This year, a 5% increase in the minimum wage is planned — from 8000 UAH to 8647 UAH. The Cabinet has made a decision to increase the salaries of specialists in the field of social and rehabilitation services. The government's resolution has already come into force. There are about 80 thousand such specialists in Ukraine.
Increase in teachers' salaries
In addition, this year teachers' salaries will be increased by 50%. The increase will occur in two stages: in January and September. It is expected that the average salary of teachers will reach about 30 thousand UAH.
The introduction of new supplements reflects the state's desire to support key sectors that perform important social functions, specifically healthcare and education. The increase in salaries and supplements may positively affect the quality of services in these areas and improve working conditions for professionals who work daily for the benefit of society.
