Russians launched a massive strike on Ukraine: Zelensky on the consequences and the world's reaction.
According to FREEДOM:
Continuation of attacks and Ukraine's reaction
In Ukraine, work continues after the night missile strikes carried out by Russian troops. A large-scale attack struck Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk region, Kyiv region and other areas — strikes were reported from Kharkiv to Lutsk. This is already the second major attack in a week. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Russia's actions prove: without international pressure, the war will not end. He stated this on August 30, on the day of the 1284th anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
“More than 500 Russian drones, 45 missiles. A significant part was shot down, including ballistic missiles — six ballistic missiles, 32 cruise missiles. Our forces also neutralized 510 drones overnight, most of them 'Shaheds'. This is already the second such large-scale strike by Russia in a week — absolutely brazen actions that demonstrate that without world pressure on it, there will be no end to the war. And these are clear signals for both the United States of America and for Europe, and for the leaders who are meeting with Putin in China these days,” said the president.
Meeting with the Prime Minister of India
Zelensky also spoke about his conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the situation in Ukraine was discussed.
“Russia continues the war, continues the killings. It is important that the Prime Minister of India supported the need for a ceasefire, and then it will be a clear signal that Russia is ready for diplomacy. We expect this to be conveyed at the meetings in China. Putin is just fooling the leaders and dragging them into complicity. He rejects the threat of sanctions in this way. Nothing else interests him. It is important that we collectively push Russia to end the war,” emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
Reports and preparation for negotiations
Today, the president received a report from the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, who recently returned from meetings in Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
“We are also working with Switzerland. Each of these countries is ready to be a platform for negotiations to end the war. I thank them for this. I am now waiting for the report after the meetings in America from Andrii Yermak — he spoke with Steve Whitcoff. We are preparing for meetings in Europe already this week. We are doing everything possible to ensure a strong reaction to Russia's actions,” reported the head of state.
Investigation of Andriy Parubiy's murder
The president also reported on the investigation of the murder of former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.
Important events related to Russia's aggression continue in Ukraine, affecting many regions. President Zelensky is actively working on international support and negotiating with key world leaders, including the Prime Minister of India, to achieve peace agreements. At the same time, the country is focused on investigating crimes, including the murder of Andriy Parubiy, underscoring the importance of justice in wartime.“Law enforcement agencies are regularly reporting — the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Attorney General. The circumstances of Andriy Parubiy's murder are being investigated. Many resources are involved — all that is necessary. The crime was, unfortunately, carefully prepared. But everything is being done to solve this crime. I also spoke with Vasily Maliuk. The Security Service of Ukraine is involved in the investigation. I instructed to urgently present verified information to our society,” said the president.
