Zelenskyy: Russian Army Commanders Removed Over False Reports.
Zelenskyy on Shifts in Russian Military Leadership Due to Deception
According to Novyny.live: On March 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that several Russian army commanders have been suspended. The reason for this was inaccurate data in their reports on frontline conditions. Zelenskyy stated that some brigade-level commanders have already been replaced as punishment for lying. This leadership shake-up comes amid heavy losses among Russian forces, which the president says have exceeded 100,000 personnel in the past three months.
According to the information provided, Ukrainian troops eliminated over 8,000 Russian soldiers in just one week. Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine destroys between 28,000 and 35,000 Russian military personnel each month. As a result, he noted:
'The only tangible outcome for the Russian army has been a rise in their casualties.' - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
In the Donetsk region, Ukrainian positions have remained largely unchanged, while the enemy attempted to advance in the Kharkiv area and border communities of Sumy Oblast—but those efforts were thwarted. Active fighting continues on the Oleksandrivka front, where both sides are engaged in fierce clashes.
Zelenskyy also pointed out that the figures illustrating Russia's losses reveal the true cost the country is paying for prolonging the war. This development points to serious issues within the Russian military command, which, in the president's view, could affect the future situation on the battlefield.
The suspension of Russian army commanders due to false reporting may signal internal conflicts and a crisis in leadership amid high casualties. While changes in the military hierarchy might aim to improve frontline conditions, given the scale of losses, it is difficult to predict whether they will lead to significant shifts in combat outcomes. Future developments may depend on both sides' ability to adapt to evolving battlefield dynamics.
