Zelensky and Putin may hold a meeting: what is known about the negotiations.
According to inkorr.com: Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. After the negotiations, he reported that both presidents are discussing the possibility of a personal conversation, although the location for it remains unknown.
Fico noted that the idea of a meeting between Zelensky and Putin in Moscow is losing relevance, but the importance of communication between them remains extremely vital. Both leaders understand how necessary it is to meet to discuss important issues and prevent further conflict.
'The meeting between President Zelensky and President Putin may not bring political benefits domestically, and citizens of the Russian Federation may not support it. However, both leaders understand that they need to meet, talk about problems to avoid further conflicts. If they do not communicate, the war will continue.'
Slovak troops will not participate in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, but will allow the transit of military equipment from other countries through their territory. Fico also confirmed support for Ukraine's European ambitions and emphasized the importance of its accession to the European Union.
Conclusion
The meeting between Zelensky and Putin remains on the agenda, but the venue has yet to be determined. Both leaders are aware of the importance of dialogue for reconciliation and preventing further conflicts. Meanwhile, support for Ukraine's European aspirations is another step towards strengthening ties with the EU and expanding opportunities for the country.
