Zelensky discussed ammunition supplies with the Czech president: what is known about the initiative

According to ТСН: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the continuation of ammunition supplies with his Czech counterpart Petr Pavel on Wednesday.

Zelensky noted that the so-called "Czech initiative" has already provided Ukraine with 1.8 million ammunition rounds.

"There will be more supplies by the end of the year. There is potential to provide Ukraine with shells next year as well. We need to implement all important initiatives," he stressed.

In addition, the Ukrainian president informed Pavel about the situation at the front.

"We talked about the strong operation of our soldiers in Kupiansk, which demonstrated what the words from Moscow actually mean. It is very important for us that the world knows the truth: Ukrainians are defending their positions, and this provides a correct basis for the diplomatic work that we also discussed today," he noted.

Earlier, it was reported that after the change of government, the Czech Republic might reconsider its approach to supporting Ukraine. It was anticipated that the new government led by Prime Minister Andrej Babis might refuse military assistance to Ukraine.

Babis also noted that the Czech Republic does not plan to participate in the credit guarantee scheme for Ukraine being discussed by the EU.

Such discussions between Ukrainian and Czech leaders indicate the importance of cooperation in the field of security and support for Ukraine amid current challenges. It is crucial for European countries to remain united in their military assistance policy towards Ukraine, taking into account the changing political situation in the Czech Republic.
