Zelensky coordinated actions with EU and NATO leaders ahead of the meeting with Trump.
According to ТСН: On the eve of the meeting with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the Ukrainian side actively engaged in diplomatic work. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that joint activities are coordinated with a wide range of world leaders who support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia.
Diplomatic Support for Ukraine
Zelensky expressed gratitude to many influential politicians who help Ukraine withstand blows both on the front and at the international level. Among those with whom the president coordinated actions were the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Canada, as well as the leadership of the European Union and NATO.
“I thank Ukraine's friends Mark Carney, Emmanuel Macron, Alexander Stubb, Friedrich Merz, Giorgia Meloni, Mette Frederiksen, Donald Tusk, Dick Schoof, Jonas Gahr Støre, Ulf Kristersson, António Costa, Ursula von der Leyen, Mark Rutte, and Jonathan Powell for coordination and support,” the president stated.
Preparation for an Important Meeting
The main topic of discussion was the current diplomatic efforts and key priorities for protecting Ukrainian interests. Zelensky emphasized that this stage of coordination is preparation for an important event — the meeting with the American leader. Negotiations with European partners will continue the day after the meeting in Washington.
“Tomorrow after the meeting with President Trump, we will continue the conversation,” the head of state announced.
Strategy to Counter the Kremlin
The main goal of such activity is to not give the Kremlin any chance to impose its conditions on the world. Zelensky stressed that only strength can compel Russia to real peace.
“Strong positions are needed both on the front and in diplomacy so that Putin cannot manipulate and avoid a real and fair end to the war. The world has enough strength to guarantee security and peace,” the president summarized.
Visit to Canada
Let us remind you that during the visit to Canada, Zelensky held talks with Prime Minister Mark Carney in Halifax. The main outcome of the meeting was the announcement of allocating 2.5 billion Canadian dollars to Ukraine for economic support and the restoration of infrastructure that has been damaged by Russian attacks. Carney emphasized the importance of solidarity with Ukraine to achieve a just and lasting peace.
This series of diplomatic meetings demonstrates Ukraine's activity on the international stage and its desire to ensure support from partners. The importance of further cooperation with allies underscores the readiness of the Ukrainian leadership for constructive dialogue and decisive action in the face of modern challenges.
