The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Colonel Oleksiy Meshy, who died on August 26 as a result of a massive Russian missile and aviation strike. This information is reported by Glavkom, citing the website of the Office of the President.
«For personal courage and heroism demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, a decision to confer the title of Hero of Ukraine upon Colonel Oleksiy Serhiyovych Meshy with the award of the order «Golden Star» (posthumously)», – the message states.
