Zelensky on agreements with Starmer: how much military and financial aid Ukraine will receive.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer have signed an agreement on strategic partnership for a century. According to this agreement, the United Kingdom will allocate annual military assistance to Ukraine of at least 3.6 billion US dollars. In addition, London is transferring 3 billion US dollars of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. In total, support for Ukraine from Britain will amount to 6.6 billion US dollars for the financial year.
This was announced by the British Prime Minister, who added that this year already 3 billion pounds sterling have been allocated for military assistance. Under this agreement, an additional 2.2 billion pounds sterling will also be provided from Russian assets. In addition to financial assistance, Britain will also supply Ukraine with 150 artillery pieces from Sheffield Forgemasters, as well as a new mobile air defense system developed in collaboration with Denmark.
The agreement also covers aspects of security, defense, economy, and technology. It includes cooperation in information and cultural spheres, as well as joint expeditionary forces. The agreement also provides for streamlined mobility between the countries and cooperation programs for 100 Ukrainian schools and universities of both countries.
