Zelenskyy Details Russian Onslaught: Over 1,700 Drones and 1,380 Bombs in One Month.
Russia's Intensified Assault on Ukraine
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on January 25, 2023, that Russia has launched a new wave of mass attacks against his country. According to his statement, Russian forces fired more than 1,700 attack drones and over 1,380 guided aerial bombs over the course of a single month. These strikes, which deliberately target energy infrastructure, civilian housing, and other critical systems, represent a severe and ongoing threat to Ukraine's population.
Zelenskyy further disclosed that Russian attacks included the launch of 69 missiles of various types. Among these were:
- two 'Iskander-M' ballistic missiles
- surface-to-air S-300 missiles repurposed for ground attacks
Ukrainian military forces also documented assaults involving 102 attack UAVs.
“Every mass strike from Russia has the potential to be devastating. That is why we need missiles for our air defense systems every single day. We continue working with America and Europe to secure more protection for our skies.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The situation in Ukraine remains critically tense due to Russia's relentless bombardment, signaling a clear escalation of the conflict. This sustained aerial campaign underscores the urgent need for enhanced international support and the strengthening of Ukraine's defensive capabilities. As the nation continues to resist aggression that threatens its territorial integrity and civilian safety, diplomatic efforts to secure additional military aid remain a top priority for Ukrainian leadership. The scale of these attacks highlights the war's evolution into a battle of attrition, heavily reliant on advanced weaponry and air defense.
