Zelenskyy Details Massive Russian Barrage: Over 400 Drones and 40 Missiles in a Single Day.
Ukrainian President Details Consequences of Intense Attacks
According to UATV: On the 1,445th day of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the aftermath of a massive Russian assault that occurred on February 7, 2023. He stated that the attack involved more than 400 drones and nearly 40 missiles of various types. Zelenskyy emphasized that this scale of bombardment, which no terrorist in the world has ever permitted themselves, is unacceptable and must be met with a global response against Russia. This relentless assault underscores the ongoing brutality of the war, now well into its fourth year.
Security Concerns and International Support
The President also raised concerns about the safety of Ukraine's nuclear power plants, noting ongoing issues with power generation at these facilities. To address the situation, repair crews are being deployed from the Volyn region to the areas of Chernihiv and Kharkiv. Zelenskyy highlighted that difficult weather conditions in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions are further complicating these critical repair efforts.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the vital importance of international support, stating that missiles for 'Patriot' and 'IRIS-T' air defense systems are needed virtually every day to protect lives. He thanked France for all the support provided, noting that every meeting with international partners is crucial for clarifying how and when this war can truly end. Western-supplied air defense systems remain Ukraine's primary shield against such devastating aerial attacks.
These events highlight the persistent threat that Russian aggression poses to Ukraine and its civilian population, as well as the critical role of the international coalition in supporting Ukraine. Given the high intensity of the attacks and critical problems with energy infrastructure, international assistance—particularly in the form of military equipment and repairs to energy facilities—remains vital for ensuring stability and security in the country.
