Zelenskyy: Russia Exploits Mobilization Errors to Sow Panic.
The State of Mobilization in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russia is capitalizing on errors in the mobilization process to fuel panic within the country. He noted that the Ministry of Defense has been tasked with developing a technological solution to address this issue. Zelenskyy emphasized that the disinformation spread by Russia, often involving artificial intelligence, presents a significant challenge. This comes as Ukraine continues to defend its sovereignty against a full-scale invasion.
Fedor Venislavsky, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense, and intelligence, highlighted that only about 1–5% of conflicts between conscripts and Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) in Ukraine are genuine. This suggests that the majority of concerning incidents may be linked to disinformation actively promoted by the adversary.
“There are undoubtedly many challenges with the TRCs, but there is also a lot of disinformation, a lot of AI.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The Ministry of Defense has been directed to clarify mobilization procedures and find a more technological approach to ensure stability and order in this area.
The Critical Need to Counter Disinformation
In the current Ukrainian context, it is crucial not only to resolve actual mobilization issues but also to actively counter information attacks from Russia. Leveraging technology, including artificial intelligence, to combat false narratives could be a key factor in maintaining social stability and strengthening trust in state institutions.
Given the heightened tensions, ensuring transparent communication between the military and the civilian population has become extremely urgent.
