Recovery after drone attacks

After the night attacks of Russian drones, recovery work continues in the Sumy region. The occupiers deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure, resulting in damage to energy facilities. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on August 27, commenting on the consequences of the enemy attack, which was covered by FREEДОМ.

“Almost a hundred UAVs and targeted strikes at night on our regions, specifically on civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, energy facilities were damaged. As a result of the attack, there were power outages in Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions. More than 100 thousand households are without electricity. All services are engaged on-site, and we will restore energy supply as quickly as possible,” — Zelensky reported.

According to Zelensky, drones struck a regular lyceum in Kharkiv region, and in Kherson, they hit a multi-storey building. There are casualties, and they are receiving necessary assistance. Dnipropetrovsk region was also affected by the strikes.

“The Russians continue the war and do not respond to any peaceful calls to stop the killings and destruction. New steps are needed to pressure Russia to stop the strikes and ensure real security. We are working with partners to create such pressure,” — summarized the head of state.

Threat from drones

It should be noted that on the night of August 27, Russia attacked Ukraine with 95 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and other imitation drones.

These attacks confirm the continuation of hostile aggression aimed at the civilian population and infrastructure. Prolonged power outages and damage to vital facilities again pose challenges for Ukrainians in their daily lives. The government and rescue services are doing everything possible to maximize the restoration of affected regions and provide support to citizens who have suffered from the attacks.
