Zelensky on Tomahawk missiles: only against military facilities of the RF.
Statement by Volodymyr Zelensky on Tomahawk missiles
According to inkorr.com: In a conversation with Fox News, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that Tomahawk missiles can be used only for strikes against military facilities in Russia, in order to reduce its ability to continue aggression. He emphasized that Russia finances its actions through the sale of energy resources, so it is important to deprive it of this opportunity by diminishing military strength. The president also stressed the need for a more active use of diplomatic pressure on Russia.
In his statement, he noted that Ukraine has always avoided attacks on civilians: 'These are only military facilities, exclusively military. We have never attacked civilians.'
Zelensky also raised the issue of potentially receiving American Tomahawk missiles during a meeting with President Donald Trump. Such armaments would allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory, which would likely force President Putin to come to the negotiating table. At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed outrage over the potential supply of these missiles to Ukraine and assured that it would not change the situation at the front.
In his speeches, Zelensky emphasizes the importance of protecting Ukraine's national interests and using peaceful means to resolve the conflict with Russia, while avoiding attacks on civilians.
Thus, the statement of the President of Ukraine underscores a strategic approach to conducting the war, highlighting the need to destroy the enemy's military base while adhering to international law regarding the protection of civilians. Zelensky's position on the use of Tomahawk may significantly influence the further development of the conflict and the strategy of diplomatic negotiations between the countries.
