President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting regarding the development of the Air Force and Ukrainian military aviation.

The head of state reported this on his social media on February 4.

'We have already made extremely significant steps: we transitioned to F-16s, which effectively perform combat tasks for the sake of Ukraine. This is a success of our Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the fastest transitions to a new type of aircraft among all countries,' noted the President.

According to him, Ukraine is also expecting French fighters, which under the control of Ukrainian pilots will strengthen the country's defense.

Liliya Averyanova, the mother of Hero of Ukraine Major Andrii Pilshchykov (Jus), participated in the meeting.

Zelensky instructed the Minister of Defense to implement the defined organizational changes. This refers to new personnel approaches and greater attention from the command staff to pilots and engineers. They also discussed prospects for cooperation with partners and personnel issues to strengthen the command staff of the Air Force and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
