Zelensky held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council: focusing on the North Korean military and the situation in Syria.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where the situation in Syria after the fall of the Assad regime and the participation of North Korean military forces in hostilities on the territory of the Russian Federation were discussed.
'Ukraine is interested in stabilizing the situation in Syria and the region as a whole and will support the necessary efforts of its partners,' the head of state said.
According to him, Ukraine is ready to assist the Syrian people with food security and the restoration of normal life. All necessary decisions regarding food supply have already been made.
During the meeting, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported on the situation at the front and the areas of the Kursk operation. According to preliminary data, the number of killed and wounded North Korean soldiers in Kursk exceeds 3,000.
'It is important for the world to understand that the risk of destabilization around the Korean Peninsula and in neighboring regions and waters is increasing proportionally with the growing cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang,' Zelensky emphasized.
