Zelensky revealed a critical drawback in Ukraine's defense - and it's not the age of the military personnel.
Zelensky: inadequate armament of brigades is more important than the age of military personnel
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his concerns about the inadequate armament of Ukrainian brigades during a press conference in Brussels. He stated that this issue is more important than the age of military personnel.
Zelensky emphasized the necessity of fulfilling agreements with Western partners regarding military unit training. According to him, currently, out of the planned 14 brigades, only two are ready - one in France and one in Germany, where they trained with American instructors.
The president highlighted that comprehensive brigade training should include equipment training, weapons training, and involvement of the commander. He noted that this approach significantly impacts the combat readiness and morale of military personnel on the front line.
Zelensky also pointed out that proper staffing of brigades is a primary task, despite the constant need for personnel. He emphasized the importance of having enough weaponry to protect the state.
Previously, the president had also commented on Putin's statement regarding the Istanbul negotiations and Orbán's role, as well as responded to Putin's proposal regarding a strike on Kyiv.
