According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during which they discussed the current situation in Ukraine and military cooperation. This conversation took place just before Chancellor Merz is scheduled to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump. The timing underscores the ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure support for Ukraine amidst its ongoing conflict.
During the call, Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's urgent need for air defense missiles.
"I outlined the situation on the front lines and our requirements for air defense missiles," the President stated.He also shared intelligence regarding potential future Russian strikes.
For his part, Chancellor Merz briefed Zelenskyy on his recent visit to China.
"Friedrich informed me about his trip to China and the meetings that took place there," Zelenskyy reported.Merz stressed that Europe would continue to increase pressure on Russia, noting that "Moscow is not seeking any path to reach agreements on ending the war."
Cooperation between Ukraine and Germany will also continue through joint weapons production. Furthermore, Chancellor Merz has spoken with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, highlighting Germany's active diplomatic role on the international stage concerning the war in Ukraine.
