Zelensky: Pressure on Russia is absolutely necessary.
Volodymyr Zelensky on military actions and negotiations with the EU
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated in an informational video address about the continuation of hostilities in Donetsk, active operations in the Russian Federation, and efforts for the country to join the European Union.
According to Zelensky, the hottest situation remains in the Pokrovsk direction in Donetsk, and fighting continues in the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation, which is an 'active defense' of Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian forces managed to inflict serious losses on the Russian army during the Kursk operation and to strengthen allies' support to increase pressure on Russia in all areas.
'The Russians demonstrate instability and inability to achieve peace, so Ukraine continues to coordinate actions with international partners,' the head of state stated.
Zelensky also highlighted the military personnel who distinguished themselves at the front and reported on negotiations with representatives of the European Council, Poland, and NATO regarding Ukraine's accession to the EU. The country is ready to open the first negotiating clusters for this purpose.
Ukraine continues to carry out active operations at the front, taking steps for European integration while simultaneously improving cooperation with international partners in the context of combating Russian aggression.
