Zelenskyy Reports Rising Anxiety Among Russians: 66% Acknowledge Severe Financial Hardship.
Crisis Conditions Intensify in Crimea
According to UATV: Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service has reported an escalation of crisis-level conditions in Crimea. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that anxiety levels among Russians are climbing, while their financial situation grows increasingly dire. According to him, 66% of Russians now describe their financial circumstances as difficult, and over 80% believe a large-scale economic collapse in Russia is unavoidable.
Public Sentiment and Growing Unease
Zelenskyy further emphasized that current anxiety levels among Russians exceed those recorded during the Kursk operation. He stated, "The level of anxiety among Russians is now higher than during our Kursk operation—specifically, over 50%."
"The Russian occupation administration, according to the president, 'quite clearly and unequivocally admits it cannot resolve the problems created by our medium-range sanctions against the occupier.'"
As a result, the situation in Crimea remains tense, and Russia's economic difficulties could shape future developments in the region. High levels of public anxiety may foreshadow potential social and political fallout, further destabilizing Russia's internal situation and influencing its actions in Crimea.
Given these factors, international observers can anticipate further shifts in regional policy, which will require close monitoring by Ukraine and its partners.
