Address by the President of Ukraine
In Kyiv, in the Darnytsia district, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored the memory of those killed as a result of the Russian strike on a five-storey building. This information was released on August 29 by the FREEДOM agency and the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The President laid flowers at the destroyed residential building, which was damaged by a missile strike on the night of August 28. As a result of the attack, 23 people were killed, including four children.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and talked with the residents of the building, learning about their needs regarding housing, the restoration of documents, and compensation.
'We will solve this issue, as we have in other cases, quickly. There is temporary housing. In the nearest future, you will definitely be given compensation so that you can rent an apartment and eventually have your own personal housing. The state is doing this, and there are relevant programs,' Zelenskyy said.
Consequences of the attack
During this missile-drone attack, Russia used nearly 600 drones and 31 missiles, including ballistic ones. As a result, dozens of buildings, enterprises, and diplomatic missions were damaged. In Kyiv, 25 people were killed, and more than 50 were injured, with dozens remaining in hospitals.
