Meetings and briefings of Volodymyr Zelensky regarding defense issues
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a series of important meetings and briefings concerning defense issues. He reported this in his evening address on January 14.
The head of state noted that he instructed not to reduce the number of specialists required for the operation of aviation, air defense, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force. This decision was made after numerous discussions and requests regarding personnel transfers in this type of military.
During a meeting with the German Minister of Defense, issues of air defense and new systems for protecting Ukrainian cities were discussed. According to the President, Germany provides 16% of the total volume of international support for Ukraine.
Zelensky also held talks with the Speaker of the Latvian Parliament. The agenda included issues of Russian threats in the Baltic region, particularly regarding the shadow tanker fleet, espionage against European infrastructure, and the potential use of drones to destabilize the operation of airports and power stations.
