Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the imposition of sanctions against three Ukrainians and two Russians for their participation in information campaigns against Ukraine. Among them are former member of parliament Natalia Korolevska and businessman Hennadiy Balashov.
Sanctions for anti-Ukrainian propaganda
According to Zelensky, the mentioned individuals promoted anti-Ukrainian ideas aimed at damaging the defense capabilities of the state and legitimizing the aggression of the Russian Federation. Among those subject to sanctions are Ukrainian blogger Andriy Serebryansky (known as 'Andriy Luhansky'), Ukrainian businessman Hennadiy Balashov, former Ukrainian member of parliament Natalia Korolevska, Russian blogger Yulia Latynina, and Russian propagandist Tatyana Aksyonenko.
'Apply personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against individuals according to the annex'
According to the documents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine must also inform the relevant bodies of the European Union, the United States of America, and other countries about the application of sanctions and propose similar restrictions.
