Ukraine’s President Voices Alarm Over Belarus

According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has raised serious concerns about Belarus being pulled into the conflict on Russia’s side, warning of the dangerous consequences this could bring. He confirmed that four relay stations operating in Belarus have already been detected, all working in Russia’s interest. Zelensky also highlighted a dramatic increase in fuel shipments from Belarus to Russia:

  • gasoline deliveries surged 13-fold between January and May;
  • diesel fuel shipments tripled during the same period.

Zelensky’s Statements and Lukashenko’s Response

On May 15, Zelensky stated that Russia is trying to drag Belarus into the war, and he reiterated this point on June 20. On June 15, Alexander Lukashenko apologized to Zelensky for his harsh rhetoric, but the Ukrainian leader urged him to “be honest” about the war.

“Every enterprise supplying components for Russian weapons is part of dragging Belarus into the war.” Volodymyr Zelensky

Zelensky also emphasized that Belarus has the ability to “dismantle this equipment.” He stressed that “from the very first days of this war, they killed children and adults—missiles were launched from Belarus.” These remarks reflect deep unease within Ukraine’s leadership over Belarus’s involvement in military operations supporting Russia.

Zelensky’s warnings underscore rising tensions in the region and the potential military fallout for Ukraine if Belarus continues to back Russia. The sharp increase in fuel supplies may indicate deepening economic and military ties between Minsk and Moscow. This issue is becoming increasingly urgent, especially given that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been ongoing for several years, and any new alliances could significantly shift the regional balance of power.
