Zelensky calls on the global South to expedite peace: what was discussed with South Africa.
According to FREEДOM: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on countries of the global South to help end the war, which he said was started solely due to Russia's interests. He also expressed his willingness to meet with the Russian leader in any format, but noted that Moscow continuously complicates the peace process.
'...It is important for the countries of the global South to send clear signals and push Russia towards peace,' emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is worth noting that European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius rejected the idea of dividing Europe into spheres of influence, emphasizing that Ukraine has the right to membership in the European Union and NATO.
The Ukrainian president urged Southern countries to help end the war, which he characterizes as a conflict initiated solely by Russia. Zelensky also expressed his readiness to meet with the Russian leader in any format, but noted that Moscow complicates the peacemaking process. On a positive note, the European Commissioner for Defense emphasized Ukraine's right to EU and NATO membership, rejecting the idea of dividing Europe into spheres of influence.
