Zelenskyy Issues Demand to Belarus: Dismantle Relay Stations Used for Russian Drones.
Statement from Ukraine’s President
According to Espreso.tv: In an interview with the program 'TSN. Tyzhden,' President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for de-escalation of the conflict and urged Belarus to halt its technical support for Russia. He emphasized that Belarus has been informed of the need to stop aiding Moscow, specifically highlighting the removal of relay stations used to guide Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.
Relay Stations Located in Belarus
Currently, four such relay stations are operational in Belarus, situated in the Homel and Brest regions. The President stressed that dismantling these facilities is a critical step.
'Eliminate this, take it down, and show us that it has been removed,' he stated, underscoring that this issue must be resolved.
Zelenskyy also clarified that 'Belarus has time to dismantle this equipment.' He added that 'his apologies can keep for himself—they haven’t worked since the first day of the war.' The President made clear that this is merely a signal, asserting that 'there are no threats here.' In this way, Ukrainian authorities continue to push for actions that could help reduce regional tensions. This appeal comes amid ongoing hostilities, where drone warfare has played a significant role, making the relay stations a strategic concern for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president’s remarks underscore the importance of curbing military activity and support that could escalate the conflict. Removing the relay stations could serve as a symbolic gesture toward lowering tensions and improving relations between Ukraine and Belarus. Meanwhile, this matter remains pressing given the broader security landscape in Eastern Europe and Ukraine’s ties with neighboring countries.
