Land for Combatants: Procedure for Obtaining and Wartime Restrictions.
Procedure for Obtaining Land for Combatants
Every combatant in Ukraine has the opportunity to obtain a plot of land according to the legislation. However, due to the introduction of martial law, there are certain restrictions on the issuance of land plots to veterans.
Renowned lawyer Larysa Velychko explained in a comment to the 24 Channel that to obtain a plot of land for free, a combatant must submit an application to the relevant executive authority. It is also possible to contact the local government, which has the authority to transfer land plots into ownership.
According to the legislation, the sizes of land plots for gardening, personal farming, housing construction, and dacha construction have limited parameters. To obtain a land plot, combatants must submit certain documents and indicate the purpose of land use.
Moreover, amendments have been made to the Land Code of Ukraine, prohibiting the free transfer of state and communal lands into private hands during the martial law period. This restriction also applies to Ukrainian military personnel who participated in combat activities.
