Frosty weather continues in Ukraine

Winter is in no hurry to leave Ukraine. On Thursday, February 20, residents of the country expect frosts down to -20 degrees.

Forecaster Natalia Didenko reported this on her Facebook page.

'It will still be cold in Ukraine on Thursday. At night, temperatures are expected to be -9 to -15 degrees, in the Left Bank - from -12 to -19 degrees, in the east down to -20 degrees. During the day on February 20, temperatures are forecasted to be -1 to -6 degrees,' the forecaster said.

Didenko also noted that at night and in the morning, there may be light snow in the west and north, while during the day it is expected in the central regions and some other areas. For most of the territory, no precipitation is expected.

Drivers are advised to be cautious due to icy conditions on the roads.

In Kyiv on February 20, there will be light snow at night, and no precipitation during the day. The air temperature at night will be -7 to -9 degrees, during the day -3 to -5 degrees.

'So far, the warm forecast period remains unchanged from February 25. And today marks the birthday of the first synoptic map. On February 19, 1855, the director of the Paris Observatory, Urbain Le Verrier, the discoverer of the planet Neptune, presented to the Paris Academy of Sciences an operational weather map in Europe for the period between 9 and 10 AM. This was the great-grandmother of modern maps, in a baric scarf (that is, only with lines of equal atmospheric pressure), kind, smiling, and loving towards its highly modern grandchildren)),' Didenko said.

Earlier, Didenko warned about a sharp temperature drop.
