Defending Mala Tokmachka

According to UATV: For more than 1,500 days, Ukraine’s armed forces have successfully defended Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region, repelling Russian attacks and maintaining control over the area. Located on the Orikhiv front, this settlement sits in a zone where intense combat operations are ongoing.

On June 18, Russian troops faced another failure when their assault on Mala Tokmachka collapsed. According to reports, Ukrainian forces are striking the enemy as it tries to advance toward Orikhiv along the river. Military expert Serhiy Hrabsky noted:

“Ukrainian troops, holding their defensive positions firmly, are striking the enemy as it attempts to push toward Orikhiv along the river.” - Serhiy Hrabsky

Despite the enemy’s active offensive efforts, their situation is complicated by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, which use attack drones and missiles to control the direction. Hrabsky emphasized:

“The enemy can and wants to conduct active offensive operations there, but because Ukraine’s Defense Forces’ attack drones and missiles control the situation on this front, the conditions for them are very, very difficult.” - Serhiy Hrabsky

It is also worth noting that the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade has been entered into the Ukrainian Book of Records for its prolonged defense of Mala Tokmachka, highlighting the high effectiveness and resilience of Ukrainian troops in this critical zone.

Why This Defense Matters

The defense of Mala Tokmachka is a key aspect of Ukraine’s front line, as controlling this settlement allows for holding strategic positions in the Zaporizhzhia region. This prolonged defense demonstrates the preparedness and capability of Ukrainian soldiers to withstand aggression, significantly impacting the overall course of the conflict.

The successes of Ukraine’s Defense Forces may have consequences not only for local battles but also for the broader front-line situation, as troop morale and support substantially influence their ability to conduct active combat operations.
