Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated Kupiansk: how the six-month operation to free the city unfolded.

According to ТСН: The Defense Forces of Ukraine have liberated Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region from Russian troops that previously controlled the city.

As noted by the commander of the 429th Separate Drone Regiment Achilles, the operation lasted nearly six months. Ukrainian units surrounded the enemy, cleared the city of occupiers, and prevented their infiltration.

Stabilization of the situation

President Volodymyr Zelensky showcased the achievements of the Ukrainian military to the international community, emphasizing the false claims by Russia about control over Kupiansk. Various units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine acted in a coordinated manner, which, according to Fedorenko, significantly contributed to stabilizing the situation in the city.

Strategic victory of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Restoring control over Kupiansk is an important victory for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demonstrating the strength of the Ukrainian army. As a result of this successful operation, Russian troops were blocked in Kupiansk, and the northwestern outskirts of the city were cleared.

The operation began with creating a blockade and isolating the enemy garrison from its main forces. The Defense Forces occupied Rad'kivka and Kindrashivka and took Golubivka under fire control. After that, the areas of Moskalyivka and the northwestern outskirts of Kupiansk were cleared,” DeepState reported.

This event has strategic significance for the further struggle of the Ukrainian troops, as restoring control over Kupiansk allows to strengthen the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region. Coordination of actions observed in Ukrainian units is also important, as it enhances their effectiveness in opposing the enemy.
