Massive Moscow Drone Strike: Commander 'Nemesis' Discloses Attack Details.
The June 18 Assault on Moscow
According to Novyny.live: Andriy 'Gioconda,' a company commander from the 412th Brigade known as Nemesis, has revealed new information about the large-scale drone attack on Moscow that took place on the night of June 18. The operation relied heavily on Firepoint drones, a model now standard across nearly every unit in Ukraine's Defense Forces. A mix of unmanned aerial vehicles—including the 'Liutyi,' Firepoint, 'Behemoths,' and decoys—were deployed against the Moscow region.
One of the primary targets was the Moscow Oil Refinery, located just 15 kilometers from the Kremlin. According to 'Gioconda,' the majority of the drones used in the strike were Firepoints, chosen for their low cost and high availability. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also commented on the attack, stating that Moscow's extensive air defense systems failed to repel the assault, and that such strikes are a fully justified response to Russian aggression.
Significance of the Strike
The attack on Moscow has become a landmark event, sparking widespread discussion and analysis among military and political experts. This incident highlights the escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia, particularly regarding the use of advanced technology in warfare. The reliance on drones as a primary attack method signals a shift in tactical approaches that could reshape future military operations. Furthermore, the response from Ukraine's leadership, including President Zelenskyy's remarks, underscores the country's determination to counter Russian aggression and assert its position on the global stage.
