Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Air Defenses and Command Hubs: New Details Emerge.
Ukrainian Military Targets Key Russian Army Assets
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine’s Armed Forces have launched a series of strikes against critical Russian military infrastructure, focusing on air defense systems, command centers, and troop concentrations. On March 22, 2023, Ukrainian troops successfully hit a 'Buk-M1' surface-to-air missile system in Russia’s Bryansk region. This attack is part of a broader, systematic campaign by Ukraine to degrade the enemy’s military capabilities.
Additionally, a 'Buk-M2' air defense system was destroyed near Staropetrivka in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. Key logistics hubs were also targeted, including:
- one near Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region;
- and a command observation post close to Uspenivka.
These operations underscore Ukraine’s determination to dismantle essential components of Russia’s military apparatus.
Ongoing Ukrainian Operations
Ukraine’s defense forces continue their mission, striking drone control points near Rivnopillya as well as areas with concentrated enemy personnel in Berdiansk and Huliaipole. During nighttime attacks on March 19, 2023, ammunition depots in Donetsk, Yalta, and Kalachak (Kherson region) were hit, demonstrating the effectiveness of Ukraine’s strategic planning.
On the night of March 17, 2023, a 'TOR-M2U' air defense system was taken out of action. Between March 16 and 17, 2023, Ukrainian forces also struck two strategic aviation enterprises within Russian territory. These actions are part of a broader strategy aimed at reducing the combat effectiveness of Russian occupation forces on the front lines.
The evolving situation highlights the continuation of active hostilities between Ukrainian and Russian forces, both seeking to shift the conflict’s balance of power.
By targeting air defense systems and logistics nodes, Ukraine aims to cripple Russia’s ability to sustain combat operations. These strikes may also serve as a crucial preparatory step for potential future offensives by the Ukrainian army.
