Ukrainian military destroyed another Russian pontoon crossing in Rusia's Kursk region, analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported, citing a statement from Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to analysts, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups continue to break through to the 38K-017 highway (Kursk-Rylsk), so Russian troops are setting up checkpoints along the road.
Meanwhile, a video has appeared on the internet showing the AFU destroying a Russian pontoon crossing in the Kursk region. The object was bombed by GMLRS missile strikes.
In the Kursk region, there are Russian units of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, the "Pyatnashka" brigade, and the 51st Airborne Regiment, Zelensky said. He also noted that Ukrainian forces control over 1300 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region, including over 100 populated areas.
According to ISW, as of September 6, Ukrainian forces were operating in an area of about 1153 square kilometers and in 49 populated areas of the Kursk region. Some of these populated areas are very small territories.
The analysts also noted that Russian troops have regained their positions to the northeast of Zhuravliv.
