Ukraine’s Military Hits Critical Russian Sites: Refinery Shut Down

According to Novyny.live: Between May 25 and 26, Ukraine’s defense forces launched strikes against Russian military infrastructure, including halting operations at the Syzran oil refinery. These actions are part of a broader strategy aimed at weakening the enemy’s offensive capabilities in the ongoing conflict.

Targets Struck

The operations hit several key facilities. Among them:

  • a Russian command post near Ocheretyne in the Donetsk region;
  • a regiment control center in Verkhnya Krynytsia, Zaporizhzhia region;
  • drone control centers in Nesteryanka and Novohrodivka;
  • a drone storage site in Novopetrykivka, which was destroyed or damaged;
  • a railway tanker in Debaltseve;
  • the Yaroslavl oil pumping station on May 25;
  • a Russian 1L125 Niobium-SV radar station, struck on May 24;
  • the Russian chemical plant Metafrax Chemicals.

“This enterprise is a key part of Russia’s military-industrial complex.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy also thanked Ukraine’s Security Service for a successful operation deep behind enemy lines and reported heavy Russian military losses from this strike. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that “defense forces will continue to systematically target Russian military infrastructure to reduce its offensive potential.”

These attacks highlight Ukraine’s active efforts to counter the Russian army and diminish its military power. Such operations could significantly shift the strategic situation on the front, as reducing enemy capabilities may alter the course of combat. For Ukraine, sustaining this pressure on Russian forces is crucial to strengthening its own defense in the protracted war.
