Meeting between Zelensky and Trump at the United Nations General Assembly

According to inkorr.com: In the corridors of the United Nations General Assembly, which took place in New York on September 23, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the United States Donald Trump met. This is already the fourth personal meeting of the leaders this year.

Before starting negotiations, a joint press conference was held, during which several important statements were made regarding the situation in Ukraine and the position of the USA in the war.

“We support Ukraine and its successes in countering Russian aggression,”
Trump noted, emphasizing the uncertainty regarding a quick resolution to the conflict. He also expressed support for NATO countries in defending their airspace in the event of an invasion by Russian aircraft. Regarding trust in Putin and influence over Hungarian leader Orban, Trump left the questions open.

Zelensky, for his part, shared the achievements of the military operation, stating that over 1000 Russian soldiers had been discovered. Trump’s previous remarks about a possible deal between Zelensky and Putin and the need to stop European purchases of Russian oil became a source of interesting discussion during the meeting in New York.

This meeting not only highlighted US support for Ukraine but also reflected the complexity of international relations, which remain important for both countries. In the context of an ongoing conflict and a changing political situation, dialogue between leaders remains a key element in achieving peace and stability in the region.
