Ukrainians Must Spend Postal Aid by February End or Lose 1000 Hryvnias.
Government Aid for Ukrainian Citizens
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian citizens who received 1,000 hryvnias in state aid via 'Ukrposhta' (the national postal service) must spend these funds by the end of February. Any unspent money will be canceled starting March 1. This program is part of broader government support during the ongoing war. In contrast, recipients who got their aid through the 'Diia' app have until summer to access and use their funds.
Since the program's launch, over 4 million transactions have been recorded, indicating active use by recipients. Of the 3.8 million people who received payments at post offices, 80% have spent their money either fully or in part.
Permitted Uses for the Funds
The aid money can be used for various essential needs, including:
- Paying utility bills
- Purchasing medicine
- Buying goods at post office branches
- Subscribing to periodicals
- Supporting Ukraine's Defense Forces
This flexibility allows Ukrainians to direct the state assistance toward their most pressing needs during a difficult period.
The program's importance lies in providing financial support amid economic instability. The limited spending deadline for 'Ukrposhta' funds encourages immediate expenditure, which can stimulate local economic activity. Meanwhile, the extended access for 'Diia' app users until summer offers recipients greater flexibility in planning their expenses.
