The Cabinet of Ministers has modified the 'Warm Winter' program for families that did not receive payments in 2024

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made changes to the 'Warm Winter' program to assist families that did not receive payments in 2024 due to technical issues. The relevant decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, the program provides for a payment of 6500 hryvnias for each child from low-income families and families of internally displaced persons.

'In December 2024, we assisted nearly 600 thousand Ukrainians under this program. Now we are making changes so that families who were not included in the list of recipients last year for technical reasons will now receive assistance,' said Denys Shmyhal.

Government representative in parliament Taras Melnychuk explained that the changes are aimed at resolving issues related to providing assistance to certain categories of people during the winter period of 2024/25.

Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko additionally explained the reasons why people did not receive funds earlier: problems with the banking system, delayed postal deliveries, or erroneous non-inclusion in the lists of recipients.

It is important to note that payments are not limited to families with children but also extend to persons with disabilities of the first group. The funds can be spent on the most essential needs, including warm clothing for children.

Earlier, Ukrainians were reminded of the deadline by which they can receive and spend the assistance.
