The administration of President Donald Trump intends to increase the supply of American weapons to Ukraine in order to support the country ahead of potential peace negotiations with Russia, Reuters reports citing sources familiar with the situation.
According to the agency, the Ukrainian leadership may receive guarantees from the United States regarding the continuation of assistance, as the suspension of this support could threaten territories under Russian pressure.
This week, representatives of the United States, including former presidential representative on Ukraine, Army Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, plan to discuss these issues with European partners at the Munich Security Conference.
The U.S. always loves to sell American-made weapons because it strengthens our economy.
Recently, American officials expressed a desire to receive compensation from Europe for the costs of the war in Ukraine and appealed to partners for greater assistance. President Donald Trump stated that he believes in progress in negotiations with Russia regarding the cessation of the conflict in Ukraine.
In response, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov emphasized the necessity for Ukraine to refuse NATO membership and to regain control over regions that were seized by Russian forces.
