Strike at Air Canada: thousands of Ukrainians may find themselves in a difficult situation.

According to The Sun: Air Canada has created real chaos in the travel industry by halting all its flights. Customers were left stranded when the airline announced early Saturday morning that all flight operations had been suspended due to employee strikes.

Strikes led by the Canadian Union of Public Employees affect about 130,000 passengers daily, according to the airline.

“Flight staff began the strike at 1 a.m. on Saturday after the company refused to meet for negotiations regarding a new contract,” confirmed Canadian Union of Public Employees representative Hugh Pulley.

Regional flights operated by Air Canada Express, provided by Jazz Aviation and PAL Airlines, have also been halted during the strike.

The company is known for its phased flight cancellations, as the first cancellations occurred on August 14 when the airline and the union sat down for negotiations.

“The company has made agreements with other Canadian and foreign carriers to provide alternative travel options for customers as much as possible,” the company added.

Additionally, passengers whose flights were canceled may receive a full refund if they do not plan to use the alternative flights offered to them.

As a result of the strike led by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Air Canada has been forced to gradually suspend all its flights, leaving thousands of passengers stranded daily.
