Most Poles do not feel partnership with Ukraine: data from a new survey.
According to ТСН: The visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Warsaw and comments by Polish President Karol Nawrocki have led to the conclusion that most Poles believe that the relationship between Ukraine and Poland has become insufficiently partnership-oriented.
Survey Results
This is confirmed by a survey conducted by SW Research for the portal rp.pl, according to which 59.8% of respondents agree with Nawrocki's opinion, 25% do not support this position, and 15.2% remain undecided.
Presidential Statements
At a press conference, the Polish president noted that Kyiv does not always express gratitude for the support that Poland has provided since the beginning of the war. In response, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has always been grateful for Poland's assistance.
Social Variability
The survey also showed social differences: men more often support the president's position - 65% compared to 57% among women. The highest support is observed among people with vocational and technical education, residents of cities with a population of 20,000 to 99,000, as well as respondents aged 25-34. The study was conducted on December 16-17 among 800 adult internet users.
It was previously reported that in Poland a teacher insulted Ukrainian students, calling them 'trash' and inciting other children against them, resulting in Ukrainians being brutally beaten.
It is important to understand that attitudes towards Ukrainians in Poland can influence social and political relations between the two countries. Expressions of such opinions from Polish leaders may indicate the need for open dialogue and support between states, especially in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
