Three traffic violations per year: drivers face license suspension under new law.
The draft law No. 12172 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which foresees radical changes in the penalty system for traffic violations. The initiative allows for the suspension of driving licenses for three violations within a year.

What is being proposed
The new rules concern the most dangerous violations, including running a red light and ignoring pedestrians at crosswalks. The fine for the first violation will be 1020 UAH, for the second - 2550 UAH and the possibility of losing a license for a year.
- The draft law provides for cooperation between the National Police and the Military Inspectorate on road safety issues to establish fines and document violations. The decision to revoke a driving license will be made by the court.
Experts believe that the main goal of these changes is to put an end to impunity for minor violations that often cause traffic accidents.
Accumulation principle
The new system provides for the retention of information about violations in the register even after the fine is paid, creating a mechanism for accumulating responsibility. This principle is successfully applied in many European countries and will contribute to a more responsible driving style on our roads.

Discussions of the innovations are ongoing in parliament, particularly regarding fines and the mechanism for license loss. Experts believe that these changes are aimed at promoting a more responsible driving behavior on the roads.
