Analysts Explain Why Russia Puts Forward Unrealistic Peace Conditions to Ukraine.

According to data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russia continues to impose demands on Ukraine, particularly regarding a change of government, and is once again discussing the issue of the 'illegitimacy' of the current government. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov insists that any peace agreement with Ukraine must include a ban on the election of pro-Western governments in the future.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is 'not a legitimate leader,' Lavrov stated, indicating that possible negotiations could only be with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Analysts emphasize that the Russian side deliberately distorts the interpretation of the Constitution of Ukraine, trying to justify its demands for a change of government. Lavrov insists on including these conditions in any peace agreement, which raises the grounds to consider such an agreement unenforceable.

Preparations for the Meeting
