Japan Delivers New Funding to the PURL Initiative
According to Espreso.tv: Japan has announced a fresh financial contribution to the PURL program, a multinational effort designed to assist Ukraine amid the ongoing war. According to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this latest donation matches the scale of previous aid packages. Since the start of the year, total contributions to the program have reached approximately $1.5 billion. Launched in 2025, PURL aims to provide Ukraine with critical resources and support.
Participating Nations in the Program
A total of 28 countries are now involved in the PURL initiative. The list includes:
- Norway
- Netherlands
- Canada
- Bulgaria
- Belgium
- United Kingdom
- Spain
- Sweden
- Lithuania
- Estonia
- Latvia
- Iceland
In late May, Norway allocated $302 million through this same program specifically for weapons purchases for Ukraine.
