According to inkorr.com: On October 26, two incidents involving US military aircraft—a helicopter and a fighter jet—occurred in the South China Sea while flying from the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. Both incidents happened within a thirty-minute interval, reported by the US Pacific Fleet press service.
Crash of Aircraft
The MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter crashed at approximately 14:45 local time. All three crew members were rescued. Half an hour later, at 15:15, the F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet also crashed into the sea during scheduled operations. Both crew members were able to eject and were rescued.
“All personnel involved in the flight are safe and in stable condition. The causes of both incidents are currently under investigation,” stated the US Pacific Fleet.
Aviation Accidents in the US
Moreover, earlier in California, near the Lemoore airbase, an accident occurred involving an F-35 fighter jet, in which the pilot managed to eject. A medical plane also crashed in Arizona, resulting in the death of four people.
Incident with a Passenger Plane
Another incident occurred in the skies over the US involving a United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8, which was operating flight UA1093 from Denver to Los Angeles. The aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Salt Lake City due to a crack in the cockpit windshield. One crew member sustained minor injuries.
These events related to the crashes in the South China Sea and the incident with the passenger plane in Salt Lake City highlight the importance of maintaining high safety standards in aviation.
