Pension Bonus Adjustments in Ukraine for 2026

According to Novyny.live: Starting in 2026, Ukrainian mothers raising large families will see an increase in their pension supplements. These bonuses are part of a broader system designed for citizens with special merits, including those with many children. The extra payment will be calculated as a percentage of the subsistence minimum for non-working individuals, which is expected to reach 2,595 hryvnias that year.

How Much Will Mothers of Many Children Receive?

For a mother of five children, the supplement will amount to 35% of the aforementioned subsistence minimum, or 908 hryvnias. Each additional child adds 1% to the base rate. Consequently, the payouts break down as follows:

  • six children: 36% (934 hryvnias);
  • seven children: 37% (960 hryvnias);
  • eight children: 38% (986 hryvnias);
  • nine children: 39% (1,012 hryvnias);
  • ten or more children: 40% (1,038 hryvnias).

In the event the recipient passes away, a portion of the supplement may be transferred to family members as part of survivor benefits. Additionally, in July 2026, a pension of 20,650 hryvnias is planned for individuals with disabilities resulting from the Chornobyl nuclear disaster. Come August 2026, certain retirees will also receive a special payment for Independence Day, ranging from 450 to 3,100 hryvnias, depending on their category.

Overall, the 2026 pension supplement system offers substantial financial support for mothers of many children and other eligible groups. These measures are expected to improve living standards for these populations and highlight the importance of social assistance in today's context. Such initiatives help reinforce social equity while providing extra financial aid to those who need it most.
