Ukrainian Apartment Buildings Eligible for Up to 300,000 Hryvnias for Backup Power.
State Aid for Multi-Apartment Buildings
According to TSN.ua: Financial assistance is now available from the Ukrainian government for apartment buildings to purchase independent power equipment. Eligible entities, including building owners' associations, housing and service cooperatives, and building managers, can apply for grants ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias. This initiative is part of a broader national effort to bolster energy resilience following widespread attacks on infrastructure.
Funding Program Conditions
The funding program will operate in communities facing an energy emergency, starting with Kyiv and its surrounding region. Applications for funds can be submitted online by eligible associations and building managers via the government's "Diia" platform. It is crucial to note that any funds received for equipment purchases must be used within a strict 45-day period.
The energy equipment eligible for purchase with these funds includes:
- Generators
- Batteries
- Inverters
- Solar panels
- Other equipment for ensuring autonomous power supply
As Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko noted, this initiative aims to support residential buildings navigating difficult energy conditions.
Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba also emphasized the program's importance for ensuring a stable power supply.
This program forms part of the government's efforts to increase Ukraine's energy independence and strengthen the resilience of its housing stock. In the face of escalating energy crisis risks, supporting multi-apartment buildings with autonomous power can significantly improve residents' quality of life and reduce dependence on centralized energy grids. Implementing such initiatives can not only enhance energy security but also stimulate the development of new technologies within the energy sector.
