Without Selydove, the Russian army will not be able to advance on Pokrovsk — military analyst.
Russian occupation forces cannot advance on Pokrovsk without controlling Selydove in the Donetsk region, as this is of great importance to them. This was stated by military-political observer Oleksandr Kovalenko.
According to Kovalenko, Selydove is of strategic importance to the Russian occupiers because it is a fortified area that controls the M-30 highway from the south. This highway will be used for strikes on Pokrovsk. The Russian troops plan to capture not only Selydove but also other settlements that hinder their advance.
In addition, Kovalenko noted that it is also important for Russian troops to cover the right bank of the Vovcha River before starting an advance on Pokrovsk.
Currently, in the area of Selydove, Russian troops are using almost no equipment but have a significant amount of infantry. They were able to strengthen their advances through regroupings and use a large amount of human resources.
