Unexpected paleness of the face: a symptom that may indicate blood cancer.
According to ТСН: If you have noticed that your face has become overly pale and this is not typical for you, doctors recommend seeing a family doctor. Such a sign may indicate serious health problems.
The National Health Service of Great Britain warns that pale face may be an indicator of disturbances in the body's functioning. Medical professionals note that this condition can sometimes indicate acute myeloid leukemia (AML) — a rare type of blood cancer that develops in the bone marrow, where white blood cells (leukocytes) function improperly.
Symptoms of the disease
Although this disease is quite rare, it most often manifests in people over 75 years old. Signs usually develop rapidly, within a few weeks. In addition to changes in skin color, symptoms may include:
persistent fatigue or weakness;
shortness of breath;
frequent infections;
unusual and frequent bruising or bleeding (for example, bleeding gums);
sudden weight loss;
night sweats;
formation of flat red or purple spots on the skin;
bone and joint pain;
a feeling of heaviness or discomfort in the abdomen.
If you notice these symptoms, do not delay and consult a family doctor. Early diagnosis can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment.
