Bloomberg learned what sanctions against Russia the Trump team is preparing.
The team of elected US President Donald Trump plans to impose new sanctions against Russia in order to achieve a diplomatic agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Two approaches are being considered: certain measures in favor of Russian oil producers as a peace treaty approaches and increasing sanctions to intensify pressure on Russia. This could have significant consequences for the global oil market, as Brent oil prices have already risen. The plans of the Trump team are still in development and depend on the position of the new president. It is also worth noting that Trump has expressed a willingness to meet with Russian leader Putin, which may indicate possible negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. Kallas responded to calls to lift sanctions against Russia.
