Russians are breaking into Pokrovsk in small groups: why this poses a threat.
The situation in Pokrovsk
According to ТСН: Russian occupation forces are infiltrating Pokrovsk in small groups, but their total number is significant. The complication of defensive actions in urban combat lies in the need to maintain effective communication between different units.
This was reported by Vitaliy Derevyanko, the deputy commander of the 1st separate battalion named after Dmytro Kotsyubailo, with the call sign 'Dancer' during a broadcast on '24 Channel'.
According to Derevyanko, among the Russian groups infiltrating the city, there are both well-trained fighters and ordinary conscripts. All of them are equipped with quality gear and supplies.
'Currently, this personnel is infiltrating in small groups. Undoubtedly, they are not well-prepared, but due to their large numbers, we have to spend a lot of time, effort, and energy to destroy them all,' emphasized 'Dancer'.
The Ukrainian command emphasizes that combat operations in urban conditions are always more complicated because they require a high level of coordination both within the unit and between different units. Defense should be distributed over separate areas where forces meet.
'If there is no interaction, there is a high probability that adjacent units will end up in our area, and it will not be clear whether it is the enemy or our fighter,' he noted.
Another difficulty, according to 'Dancer', is that it is very hard to dislodge the enemy from areas where they have entrenched themselves. Defense in the city can be maintained for quite a long time.
Vitaliy Derevyanko characterized the situation in Pokrovsk as 'tense, difficult, but controllable'.
'Currently, we cannot say that it has reached a peak criticality,' added the Ukrainian officer.
It is also worth noting that more and more video materials are appearing online, confirming the presence of Russian military forces in the central part of Pokrovsk.
The situation in Pokrovsk remains tense but controlled. The importance of effective coordination between units cannot be overstated, as it affects the success of defensive actions. Recent video recordings confirm the activity of Russian troops, indicating the continuation of the threat in this region.
