Meteorological Bomb in Europe: Powerful Storm with Winds Up to 160 km/h Brings Destruction

According to inkorr.com: Western European countries are preparing for a destructive storm known as a 'bomb cyclone' or 'meteorological bomb'. This dangerous meteorological phenomenon occurs due to a rapid drop in atmospheric pressure, which can lead to gusty winds, heavy precipitation, and serious transportation issues across the continent, as reported by 'Glavkom', citing data from Euronews.

The cyclone is moving across the Atlantic and will pass through areas between the Bay of Biscay, the English Channel, and the North Sea before continuing its path inland.

Severe Storms Have Already Affected France, Spain, and Germany

The bad weather hit the Atlantic coast of France last night. Around midnight, the low-pressure center will reach the English Channel, while in Spain, particularly in the Bay of Biscay, wind speeds will reach 130 km/h.

By lunchtime on Thursday, the 'meteorological bomb' will continue its path towards the North Sea. The strongest winds are expected between Ghent and Amsterdam. In the west and southwest of Germany, particularly in the Black Forest, gusts may reach 120 km/h.

Warnings for Residents of European Countries

On Friday morning, strong gale-force winds from the west and northwest are expected along the North Sea coast. In Hamburg and Bremen, gusts of up to 110 km/h are possible. The storm will reach its peak in Germany around lunchtime on Friday. Across the country, strong winds of around 100 km/h are forecasted, with some predictions indicating possible gusts of up to 160 km/h. The storm will retreat on Friday evening, but the danger will remain until Saturday evening: stormy rains may still occur along the coast.

Residents of France, Germany, Spain, and other countries in the region are urged to be especially cautious, monitor local authorities' announcements, and avoid traveling during the cyclone's peak activity.

Given the scale of the weather phenomena, it is essential to follow the recommendations of emergency services and stay informed about the latest data regarding the storm. Such weather can significantly impact daily life and people's safety, as well as transportation operations in various European countries.
